AI Transparency Statement
This statement explains clearly how Your Web Toolkit uses artificial intelligence tools: what we use, what we use them for, what we do not use them for, and how your data is handled when AI is involved.
Why we're telling you this
AI tools are not incidental to how we work. They are central to it. We use them every day to research, write, build, and strategise. We also help our clients implement AI in their own businesses.
We think transparency matters, particularly as AI becomes more widespread and regulations evolve. If you work with us or visit this site, you deserve to know what role AI plays and how it affects you.
The tools we use
| Tool | Provider | What we use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Claude | Anthropic | Primary tool. Writing, research, strategy, building client AI systems, summarising notes, planning projects. |
| ChatGPT | OpenAI | Occasional use for research, comparison, and exploring different approaches. |
| Canva AI | Canva | Image generation and design assistance within the Canva platform. |
What we use AI for
In our own business
- Drafting and editing written content: blog posts, emails, social media, website copy
- Research and competitive analysis
- Strategy development and planning
- Building and testing the AI systems we offer to clients
- Summarising discovery call notes to help write proposals
- Generating images for marketing and content
In client projects
- Building AI-powered content systems (automated social media, email drafts, content planning)
- Creating AI assistants trained on the client's brand voice and offers
- Developing lead generation systems that use AI to personalise responses
- Writing and optimising copy with AI assistance, always reviewed by a human before delivery
What we do not use AI for
- Making decisions about you or your business without human review
- Entering your financial details, passwords, or highly sensitive personal information into AI tools
- Generating content that is passed off as fully human-written when AI contributed significantly
- Replacing human judgment on strategic recommendations
Human oversight, always
Every piece of work we deliver is reviewed, edited, and quality-checked by us before it reaches you, whether AI assisted or not. AI is a tool. The thinking, the judgment, and the responsibility are ours.
When AI has played a significant role in a deliverable, we will tell you. You will never receive AI-generated work without knowing it went through a human review process.
How we handle your data with AI tools
We work from a local system. Your files and documents are stored on our own machine, not on AI company servers. When content is sent to an AI provider for processing (for example, when we paste notes into Claude to help write a proposal), it is processed and returned. It is not retained by the AI provider or used to train their models under their API terms.
We minimise the personal information that goes into AI tools. Where a task can be completed without including identifying details, we do so. Where we need to include information from a discovery call or project brief, we use only what is necessary.
We do not enter passwords, payment details, or other sensitive personal data into AI tools.
For full details of how your data is handled, including which AI providers we use as data processors and how international transfers are managed, see our Privacy Policy.
When we use AI in client-facing systems
Where we build AI-powered tools that interact directly with your audience or clients (for example, an AI chatbot, a quiz that generates personalised recommendations, or an automated email sequence) we will:
- Advise you on your own disclosure obligations to your audience
- Ensure any AI-generated content is clearly framed where required by law
- Build systems that keep a human in the loop for any high-stakes decisions
We follow relevant guidance including EU AI Act Article 50 requirements on AI disclosure, and we stay current as regulations evolve.
Our honest view on AI
We are enthusiastic about AI. We think it is genuinely transformative for small businesses when used thoughtfully. We are also clear-eyed about its limitations: it makes mistakes, it can produce generic output if you let it, and it is not a substitute for human expertise and relationship.
Our job is to use AI in ways that produce better work faster, while making sure everything that reaches you or your clients is accurate, on-brand, and genuinely useful. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
Staying up to date
The AI landscape is changing rapidly. We review and update this statement regularly to reflect changes in the tools we use, how we use them, and the regulatory environment. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
