Below are a selection of questions that have been asked by my clients over the years.
Your question not here? No worries, just send me an email, and I’ll get back to you!
I’m not familiar with working with a web designer. How does it work?
That’s fine – I’ll look after you!
To get started, book a discovery call so I can get a better understanding of your business and project.
If we’re a good fit, I’ll then invite you to a strategy call, where we’ll talk about your project in more detail.
I’ll then send through a proposal, you give the go ahead, and we’re off!
I don’t work with every business, so if we’re not a good fit to work together, I’ll recommend someone who is.
How much does a website cost?
The cost of a website varies greatly, and this is what we’ll discuss in the strategy call.
My website projects generally start at around US$3,000 and range upward depending on your unique needs.
How long does it take to design and build a website?
Again, this depends on the complexity of the project, and whether you have content ready to go. A basic website typically takes around 4 weeks from beginning to end.
Do I need my own domain name and web hosting?
Yes, and I encourage you to have full control of your domain and hosting. I can help you get this set up, and can work with your existing provider.
Will my website work on mobile devices?
Absolutely! All websites I design are created to work across multiple devices.
Do you do ecommerce/Online Store websites?
Not at the moment.
What is a Content Management System?
A Content Management System (CMS), is a tool that allows you to update and maintain your website by yourself. You’ll be able to edit and add pages, images, products or blog entries to your website. The CMS I use on all my website projects is WordPress.
Do you provide training?
Yes, as part of our Goodbye Pack, I supply you with training videos so you can update and maintain your website by yourself.
What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?
SEO is about optimising your website and website content so that your site appears higher up on the search engines like Google.
The more visible you are on the search engines, the more likely you’ll get increased visitors – and therefore clients – making enquiries for your business.
SEO optimisation is a mix of keyword-researched content, and technical aspects of the website.
All websites I create are SEO-optimised at launch – the level of result you see will depend on the quality of the content on the website.
To really see good results with your SEO, you need to commit to an ongoing content creation strategy.
Do you write the content for my site?
Yes, I do. A powerful website needs design and content, and I prefer to work on projects where I can help you maximise both of these aspects.
Can you design my logo?
I don’t do logos or branding, but have excellent designers in my network who I can recommend to you.
What is a domain name?
A domain name is your address on the internet. Typically this would be something like yourcompany.com.au
What is web hosting?
Web hosting is the server where you website lives.
Think of it like a giant hard-drive that holds all the files that make up your website.
You pay a monthly fee to rent some space on this server – and the more you pay, the more space you have (and the better quality server you get).
